The Garrison Cabin is perched upon a private hilltop located in Story, Indiana… where you can enjoy views of the pretty valley and The Story Inn’s historic barn from the wooden deck.
The Garrison Cabin features four separate guest suites…each having its own outdoor entrance, as well as its own private bathroom.
Each suite has been designed for comfort for two to four guests, so if it’s just you and your one favorite person…a couple with kids…or you and a group of friends who may want to spend a few days together in Brown County, the Garrison Cabin can accommodate a sizeable crowd, if that’s the kind of space you’re looking for in Brown County. While you can certainly book the entire cabin for a large crowd, you may prefer to select your one preferred suite… and possibly make some new friends with the guests who may be in the other suites.
Each spacious suite has a king-size bed, a queen-size sleeper sofa, chairs and tables, and a mini fridge, and coffee maker to make your visit more home-like. Settle in and enjoy the quiet beauty of the area!
The Story Inn offers some delicious mealtime options, and is close enough to walk to it, if you like. Of course, Nashville is within a 15-minute drive…and you will have lots to see and do in town.
The two suites that are on the ground level are The Durango Room, and The Tack Room. Both are paneled in locally harvested cedar, and have natural pine wood floors. On the upper level of the Garrison Cabin, you’ll find The Gunflint Room, and The Brown County Tree House. These two suites are similar in style to those below, offering a little rustic elegance with the cedar paneling and pine floors. The bathrooms for each suite are roomy and well-appointed with a tub/shower combo unit, and fluffy towels.
There are plenty of outdoor playtime opportunities to discover when visiting Brown County. You can challenge your pals to a boisterous round of paintball…or get the adrenaline pumping by taking a zipline ride through the trees…or maybe you’d like a guided 4-wheeler tour along some wooded trails. All these activities are available at eXplore Brown County, and you can be there in a matter of minutes, since eXplore Brown County is only about 10 minutes away from the Garrison Cabin. Or, “cowboy up” by heading over to the Brown County State Park Saddle Barn, and signing up for an afternoon session of horseback riding. Mountain biking, hiking, playing golf, and fishing are all fun things to do, as well. Not the “nature geek” type? Then trolling around the many shops in Nashville might be more enticing…you’ll have some 200+ to visit and look for the perfect trinket to take home as a reminder of your Brown County getaway.
