Great secluded area for a relaxing weekend.
Great cabin for a large group! Lots of places to sleep and a large living room/dining room to all be able to hangout in comfortably. Also very close to downtown Nashville so you get the best of both worlds!
Decent cabin overall. It was reasonably clean but a noticeable amount of dust. Again mostly clean overall! Hot tub was clean and functional. Most of the furniture is very dated and overly worn in.
Do not rent this cabin without 4WD vehicle as it is located on a VERY steep hill. One of our traveling partners had to park her car at the bottom of the hill and walk up.
Nice and quiet.
House was a great location. Very secluded, but very close to town as well. House was very clean. We enjoyed our stay and will be back!
Great setting. Beautiful surroundings. Very private. Driveway was a little challenging due to recent icing but two of us had 4 wheel drive vehicles so we got in and out o.k. Screened porch looked marvelous for a milder time. Table & chairs and bedrooms were as expected. We couldn't get the gas fireplace downstairs lit but it was probably us. Didn't want to use the wood burning fireplace since we were there such a short time. Kitchen was amply stocked with dishes for our morning breakfasts together. Not too far to local eateries, shops, and entertainment. Nice spot for 8 people.
Cabin was worth every cent!
What a perfect house for our family of 5. Ample space, plenty of bedrooms, a cozy living room and a lovely porch. We especially loved all the space outdoors - so gorgeous in the fall. We loved using the house as a jumping-off point for exploring the state park and state forests around nashville. So well-located.
Beautiful setting.
My family really enjoyed staying at Elm Lodge. It was a very spacious with a secluded setting. It had a fire pit area with seating so we took advantage of it and had a wiener roast one evening! We loved the screened porch as well! Just a short distance to town where you’ll find some of the best boutique shopping, quaint candle shops, home decor shops, candy stores, and multiple restaurants. We visited a distillery, and having dinner there. They had an outside venue where they had live music. A lot of fun! I hope we can return again one day and if so, I sure hope Elm Lodge is available!
Accurate listing, perfect cabin for a weekend getaway!
Great place to stay, secluded in the woods. Loved the privacy and ability to host a large group.
Great location, great cabin. It is old fashioned but we loved this style so we had what we were looking for. Everything was like the pictures. Watch out a little for the high hill to come the cabin. All of our cars made it even Ford Focus but suv are better for sure. The kitchen was well equipped which was great. We really had a great time !
The kitchen was the best stocked kitchen with lots of pans and dishes. Bring your own pool towels for the hot tub unless you are okay with normal ones. There is also a huge hill to drive up to get to the entrance to the house. It was a little scary at first but well worth it!
Great place to get away. Was a little weary about the driveway up the steep heel…otherwise, it was a nice stay.
The cabin was wonderful.
Very nice area and was very clean.
Had a very nice stay.
Elm Lodge is a beautiful woodland get-a-way for those who enjoy adventure. The lodge is located high on a hill deep in the woods outside of Nashville. The lodge is perfect for large groups with 4 bedrooms to accommodate guest. The steep driveway could be a challenge during poor weather conditions.
Our stay was fantastic, we were there to celebrate my sister's upcoming wedding and are already planning to make this an annual trip! The emails leading up to our stay were very helpful! The location was perfect ,all 10 of ya had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back next year!
A really nice location but some worn out features.
There’s a lot to love about this location, but like others reviewers have said, there cookware is pretty worn out. The water pressure is a bit low too but that’s to be expected with such a remote location.
It’s really important to note that the drive is super steep and not well maintained. I don’t know if we would have made it without 4 wheel drive since we had some pretty heavy thundershowers while we were there.
The proximity to Nashville is really nice. Only 10 minutes from downtown and all those wonderful shops.
It would be nice to have some more comfortable deck furniture for the screened in porch but that’s more of a nit pic.
The hot tub was definitely a disappointment. The blower didn’t work and jets are super low so it was more like sitting in a bath. It probably just needs some maintenance but we only used it once so it really depends how much of an impact that would have on your stay.
I really liked the big kitchen table. It was great for playing board games and close enough to the couches so everyone could still feel close even if they weren’t playing.
There’s a lot of space around the cabin and the fire pit was a nice feature. You really feel like you’re deep in the woods at this location even though there are places close by.
I’d say the only major complaint is communication. Many of the instructions sent weren’t location specific so it was a bit of a guessing game figuring out what to do. When I asked where to return the keys when the booklet said “return keys to where you picked them up” I got a rude response that didn’t answer my question. If you have to return keys to the office, just say “return keys to the office”.
It was also kind of strange how much stuff they ask you to bring. I understand stuff like shampoo and body wash. After all it’s not a hotel. But trash bags and dish soap? That feels like something they should provide.
We had a great time and I would recommend this place but if any of the cons feel like deal breakers I think you can find another spot at a more competitive price.
We had a great time on a girls weekend! Great screened in deck and plenty of space to sit down and eat
Very nice getaway
It was good.
Overall this is a good option. The mechanics of the house are in really good shape - water, electric, WiFi, large appliances, and HVAC are all very good. The cleanliness level was also great throughout the house. Location is good, though AWD or dry conditions are highly recommended to make it up the steep hill at the beginning of the driveway.
The caveats of this place come down to personal taste/requirements. If you prefer something modern or updated, this probably isn't your place - generally everything is functioning, but the furnishings and finishes are dated. If you require nice mattresses or newer linens, you might be disappointed. Again, they're clean, just a little lumpy and/or thread bare. If you plan on cooking meals here, you should bring as many of your own supplies as possible, because some but not all of the cooking basics are included. If you expect the little extras that some places include, you generally won't find them here. Examples include coffee, paper towels, a dish sponge, or shampoo and bath soap. Finally, if you're specifically looking for a flat, outside area, just realize that the house is at the top of a hill, so most of the yard slopes away from the house.
None of these are deal breakers. We had a great weekend and didn't anticipate many of the caveats. It's great to be able to spread out and have multiple families with their own space. And it's great being close to Nashville and the nearby parks. I hope this review helps in your family's packing/preparation!
This cabin was large enough to fit our party of 9 adults and 2 kids and everyone was able to eat together at the kitchen table - so important and difficult to find! There was also Fiber internet/Wi-Fi, again, difficult to find in the area. The location was perfect, but definitely make sure you have a vehicle that can climb that hill! One of our vehicles, a Ford Fiesta, definitely struggled on the wet gravel, but it ended up okay. Be prepared to end up supplying your own essentials as well, or make a trip or two to the local IGA to supplement things like dish soap and tp. We did love that the location was pet friendly and the large screened-in porch was a great place to spend outdoor time outside without getting eaten alive by mosquitos or swarmed by cicadas!
The cabin was great. Bedrooms were all as described, just a tight fit when in public areas (living room and kitchen) with everyone at the same time but that was to be expected with so many people! Loved the outdoor spaces!!
excellent, isolated getaway. we stayed just the weekend, and felt like it was the perfect amount of time. Nashville can be experienced in about a half day, but we wanted to spend more time at the cabin anyway
We stayed for the weekend to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The hot tub & the pool table were both big hits. It was awesome how close we were to town so we could spend a day shopping. The hill is steep, but all of us made it up with absolutely no problem, I drive a Nissan Altima. Would definitely recommend.
Perfect weekend getaway - secluded on top of a hill in the woods with an unbeatable view of the stars at night. Hard to beat.
We had a wonderful stay. All the emails were great and we felt we were completely prepared. We love visiting Brown County and wanted to honor the current culture and situation.
Elm was a great cabin. Super clean and nice and tons of room for our family. One thing, that driveway is frightening and we wish we had some warning. It is difficult to navigate in the rain and mud.
Hope this helps. If you have any questions, please feel free to call.
This was a perfect place for our girls weekend. Plenty of room to spread out during the day. Also, with the two couches there was plenty of room when we played group games at night.
We rented the Elm Lodge for a family Christmas getaway. The property was very clean, decorated for Christmas and we were able to sleep 10 people comfortably. There is no Wifi at this location but we didn't miss it--even the kids and teens adapted quickly and we had a great time together. It was a great experience and we will definitely be going back!
This was a surprise stay for my sisters Bachelorette weekend. We enjoyed the cabin, the privacy and being close to downtown Nashville so we could venture the shops!!! Great place to stay!

Great house! Had everything we needed!!
Great cabin! Especially love the screened in porch — that’s where we spent most of our time. A great way to enjoy nature without all the bug bites. Super close to Nashville, IN with cute shops and restaurants.
Cabin itself was really wonderful and with such very inviting surroundings.. It was very nice and clean. My family and I really enjoyed our stay and the pool table was a plus. Looking forward on spending another weekend at this cabin. We had great memories and our teens loved it. We really did had a lot of family bonding time up in the woods. This cabin is for sure HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

As soon as we got there we noticed how clean and tidy and put together the whole cabin was. It was so accommodating to all of our needs. We were not disappointed!

This cabin was amazing and we had a wonderful amazing time. We had 4 adults and 3 kids and we had plenty of room. The screened in porch was our favorite location to set, talk and play games
