LoneStar is set up to handle large families, and upstairs you will find two bedrooms including one with a queen bed, and a child/teenager room that sleeps 4 with twin bunk beds and another queen size bed, along with a full bath.

Was a little leery after a "smell" in the cabin was on a review. They must have fixed it as all was great while were there. Stayed 5 nights and got a special deal. We will return. Love the kitchen amenities.

Couldn't get away for the Valentine's Day holiday but my wife and I snuck away for a few days before and we will return. Loved the hot tub on a cool night.

3BR for the whole family. loved the location to town. No smells while we were here. Loved the hot tub at night and we have competition 8-ball tourneys. We will return. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. Much cheaper through the management company.

Man what a beautiful cabin. Close to town but totally secluded in the middle of the woods. The driveway is good and solid but way down and then way up to get to the cabin but man was it worth it. We will be back. Thank you

The Lonestar cabin was the perfect place for our family to get together at Christmas. The bedrooms were just what we needed, the decor is adorable, and the scenery is beautiful. The house provided ample space for a group of 8 while not feeling crowded. The driveway is intimidating but thankfully we didnt have snow or ice. Everyone generally really liked the place. The host is so friendly and easy to work with.

We struggled to get the cabin to the right temperature. It would be uncomfortably cool on the bottom while at the same time being uncomfortable warm in the upstairs bedrooms. Other reviews mentioned it was hot, but our issue was trying to be comfortable on both floors. There is a medium sized checkout list of things to do before checking out or threats of fining- fyi for people who really hate the checkout lists.

My spouse and two of our friends made our annual pilgrimage to Brown County for some trail riding and stayed at the Lone Star Cabin this year. The location was great – close to town and trails. The cabin had a few quirks, but lots of character that more than made up for it. Weather on the rainy side, and really appreciated the space to spread out and the big (covered) front porch. Cool place. I'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Lone Star April 23-25. We had to make a change to our original reservation due to the water heater being out. Julie was very helpful in offering a move the day we checked in and called to make sure we got in ok. We have to say that we were glad of the change! We like Lone Star and especially enjoyed the wood stove and had a fire both nights we were there. Beautiful woods and close to town, we liked that!

Overall stay was okay at best. Cabin was peaceful however quality of cleaning being done was personally unacceptable. The wifi did not work & we did not get cell service so it was a bit inconvenient. Picking up/dropping off keys wasn’t a deal breaker but definitely inconvenient. When I reached out about the cleanliness of the home & the wifi being out the owner did have not have good customer service when answering back and asked why I had no contacted during business hours (we werent there, we had plans during the business hours) — she blew off the comments about to cabin being dirty and said she’d send someone out for the wifi. Maintenance came out & said they couldn’t do anything about it until Monday as a button on the router had been hit (wasnt us), not sure if thats even true. Overall the cabin was peaceful but dirty & stinky, lots of dust & a mold issue. Washer full of mold as well as the air vents. A clear moisture issue at hand. I will choose another cabin when we come back.

Response From: Hills O' Brown Vacation Rentals

Thank you again for staying in one of our cabins. We now have over 107 in this area and will be happy to try and find your next cabin more suitable to your expectations. We have contacted the cleaning company for that owner to make them aware of your concerns as well as the pictures you sent us. On Monday, we contacted ATT.T, which is the wifi provider for that owner. This is a very rural area and instant customer service for wifi can be a test at its best. We are very sorry you had to deal with the issue, and hope you will call us for your next visit.

We mainly used the location to sleep and shower as we needed to be in nearby Bloomington. For a family to stay there a long weekend, it would have been great and private location

There is a relatively steep gravel driveway to the house as it is located on a hill. The property is beautiful, very secluded and has panoramic views. The house is well maintained and clean, but a bit dated. The decor in the house was fun with outdoor/western theme.

We love the Lonestar! Second time staying there on a long standing annual guys trip and we will never stay anywhere else. It is rustic yet nice and the pool table and hot tub are a great addition. Also it is very isolated and completely immersed in nature. Would recommend for any larger groups.
