THIS UNIT IS PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED BY HILLS O' BROWN VACATION RENTALS.
All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays. Dog friendly cabins require 75.00 nonrefundable fee.
Serendipity Park Cabin, as its name suggests, is a lucky discovery on 70 acres next to Brown County State Park. It is surrounded by woods & meadows, hills & valleys, and bottomlands & creeks. Please be aware that all state parks have entrance fees, and guests should have a park pass or pay these fees at an official park gate.
Lake Ogle in the State Park is just 1/4 mile from the cabin. There is a beautiful trail around the lake and another from the lake to the Lookout Tower for a long distant view of Brown County. For a real challenge, try hiking cross-country to Story, a tiny village four miles away with a great restaurant. At night you can hike to the top of the hill and see millions of stars undimmed by light pollution. This cabin is ideally situated for nature lovers so bring walking sticks, boots, binoculars, and cameras.
The exterior of the cabin is faced with hand-hewn logs from a barn which was on the site for over 100 years. There are two porches, one on the sunny south and one on the shady north. Sit on the porches at night and listen for whipporwills or owls. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub or enjoy the view at the pond. Sit on the front porch during the day to enjoy birds attracted to the spring and creek. A grill and fire pit will add to your enjoyment outside.
The inside of the cabin is very open and light due to the many oversized windows, three skylights, and a vaulted ceiling. Turn on the gas fireplace if it's chilly. Cook a great meal in the fully furnished kitchen. Play board games or watch Satellite TV, but don't forget to enjoy the quiet.
When it is time to retire for the night, there are two bedrooms each with a comfortable queen size bed. and one full bath.
All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays. Dog friendly cabins require 75.00 nonrefundable fee.

September 9-11, 2022
September 16-18, 2022
October 7-9, 2022

If that's not enough, there is easy access to Nashville and Bloomington with their many restaurants, shopping, art galleries, sporting events, and all kinds of entertainment.
Sharing part of the same property is one of our sister cabins, Lake Forest Cabin. While the two cabins are both located on the same 70 acre property, neither house is visible from the other, so your privacy (except shared lake) won't be interrupted. The fact that the cabins share the same property is very handy for families or group of friends who desire two cabins being fairly close together.
This property has 2 bedrooms

It was great!
Loved the location for hiking and yet still close enough to town for some shopping while we waited on the rain to stop so we could hit the trails again.
Nice private location with creeks on two sides, just minutes from the west gate of Brown County State Park. There's also a path that you can walk to get over to the state park with hiking trails right there, assuming you've paid the park entry fee. Lots of space and a great open layout for a two-bedroom. Only downside is that they have fairly slow Internet and they ask that you avoid using too much data. I wouldn't count on being able to work if you need to Zoom, etc.
We had a great stay! The cabin is charming and on an incredible piece of property. Loved the proximity to the state park, and the remote feel.
We enjoyed our stay in the Serendipity park log cabin. It had the basics, and the location can't be beat! We enjoyed hiking right into Brown County park from the house, which was great. I appreciated your covid-focused emails, asking that people plan ahead and not get groceries. We live nearby so that was easy, but it seems like a very helpful recommendation!
We loved our second stay at serendipity park! The advanced emails were very helpful—we brought our own food and were not surprised when the trails were busy. Luckily, there wasn’t any traffic in town when we returned our key.
A friend booked the same cabin for different dates after our recommendation.
Secluded yet close to everything. We were able to walk to hikes, fish from the backyard, take a short drive to canoe along with everything the cabin had to offer. It was perfect! We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay for our getaway!

A peaceful place! We enjoyed morning campfires, watched wild turkeys in the yard, there is a beautiful pond behind the cabin too. Inside is clean, charming and comfortable. Great place to get away from it all!
Our stay was amazing! We loved everything the cabin had to offer and the close lake for fishing. The quick hike to the state park was awesome along with a quick drive to canoe in Ogle lake. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip. Thank you!
Only thing you may want to look at is the back door would stick sometimes and lock us out of the back door of the cabin. Not a big issue but you may want to check it out.
Thanks again for such an amazing weekend!
House was beautiful and super clean. The house is in an amazing location. Just a short walk through the woods to Lake Ogle. Back yard has a hot tub and a perfect spot to gaze for wildlife. Gas grill made it easy to grill up meals. We saw no one except when we went to the State Park. A perfect getaway.
My daughters and I wanted a quick getaway from the Covid isolation. We loved how close this was to Brown County State Park. The property was very clean, the appliances and bathtub were new looking. The views from both the front and back porch were beautiful. We had a wonderful time.
