We stayed for my graduation of my Masters in Mental Health counseling. My family enjoyed the scenery. We spent most of our time on the wrap around back porch. Very peaceful and scenic stay.

Great home for a Sisiter's Birthday weekend. IT was a last minute booking after our original rental was not what we expected. Not in a good way! This cabin is beautiful and clean! Everything we wanted! The hosts were very accommodating. We had 4 sisters meeting here from different states. Greatly appreciated everything.

We love the creatures singing at night and in the morning. The back porch brings the experience of this cabin together, which we utilized along with new binoculars to watch birds. It is always fun to explore the little town. We recommend Percy's Perk, with good coffee and the cutest shop owner Percy (the dog). Thank you to Velvet Forest!!

6 Star Review!
Why limit the cabin to a 5 star rating? The cabin was wonderful. It's a steep driveway to this gorgeous oasis, but very manageable (but beware if traveling in the winter). You will not be disappointed!

Perfect place for a perfect getaway. Velvet Forest is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everything. The back porch was perfect place to sit and listen to the birds sing. If we get the chance we will return to Nashville and this perfect cabin.

We were blown away by Velvet Forest!! What a wonderful place for a girls trip to Brown County. We will definately be back! Everything was so perfect-we felt like home right away - from the bluetooth speaker to the Fiestaware- to the well equiped kitchen and bathrooms. We did not want to go home. And oh - what a setting ... We loved sitting on back porch watching the leaves and listening to the rain. And sitting around your perfect fire ring. 5 stars for certain!!

the earthy notes of Velvet Forest! The builder did a fantastic job tucking this authentic cabin between the huge canopy of trees. The wrap around porch with a 360 view invites you in (I felt like a little kid running back and forth). The large windows brought the outdoor space inside, we watched a mamma doe and her spotted fawn outside the huge windows. From the inside… I kept thinking what an awesome setting this would be in the winter, with snow, fireplace, games, food cooking, wine (AHHH!!). The kitchen was stocked perfectly, the appliances were upgraded, and the entire place was pristine/clean, beds and furnishings were outstanding. We used the charcoal grill (yum) and lit a fire in the firepit and stayed up late story telling (: We ventured out to the state park for hiking and Nashville for shopping and it was great, but honestly I was excited to get back to the property! Warning-- there is a little gnome along the drive, and if you look in his eyes he may cast a spell on you like he did me-- because I fell in love with Velvet Forest.

Velvet Forest is a wonderfully comfortable vacation home in the middle of the big woods. It's homey and spacious with all essential amenities. Wifi and television reception was excellent. The home is set back from the road so almost all sound is forest related. That was a little disconcerting for a city person. Trees can be rather noisey. Get a bird chirping app to help figure out what you're hearing. It was awesome to sit on the back porch during a rain shower & listen to the rain hitting the leaves. The grill & fire pit allow for a great outdoor cookout. The location is isolated enough that the windows can be left uncovered overnight to watch the moon & stars. (Too many horror movies for me so the curtains were closed.)
Nashville is a short drive. It's a super-cute town with an artistic flair. There are a lot of quaint shops & restaurants to choose from. Hard Truth Distillery is a great find with a variety of spirits & food. There is an 'amphitheater' with live music on weekends. Also, Columbus is maybe 30 miles away. What a hidden gem. This small city is a mecca of architecture. Highly recommend this lovely home for a girls weekend or family holiday.
