We had a lovely stay. Information for check-in and items to bring was much appreciated. The check-in process was easy, office staff were welcoming and helpful, though the stop at the office made for a slightly longer drive. The cabin was clean, warm, and the location was so lovely. We had a great time and enjoyed the hot tub, fireplace, well-equipped kitchen, and comfy beds. I appreciated the time between check out and dropping off keys; this allowed for some time to enjoy downtown Nashville without feeling rushed. I wish we could have stayed longer
We stayed during the off season (0 degrees and below) so we didn't really do a lot of outdoor activities around the place (firepit, pond, and hot tub). Great hiking nearby so we enjoyed that. And the place was cozy to come back to especially when you can just flip a switch and have a fire. We spent some great game and chat time in the living room by the fire. We did end up bringing a comfortable camp chair since we had 6 people and while we could have for all on the couches, it made things more convenient and less crowded. Make sure you close your upstairs bedroom doors if using the fire and you don't like to sleep warm since, you know, heat rises.
Kitchen was stocked well with dishes, mugs, cooking pans and utensils so we had no problems making our meals there. Beautiful morning, evening views by the kitchen table window.
All in all, it was a great long weekend, with no worries and plenty of comfort!
Our sister trip couldn’t have been better and our accomodations played a big role in that success! Bitterweet Farm Cabin was perfect for 4 city girls… We got a lot of shopping in, but away from the hustle and bustle of the traffic and tourists was so nice. Sitting on the back porch, watching cows, was fun amd relaxing. The home was well equipped, clean and just the ticket for what we needed. Thanks for sharing the place for us.
Hills O Brown was very helpful and accommodating in getting us there. Tammy was especially helpful. Thx so much.
Absolutely had an amazing time at Bittersweet Farm Cabin. It was a peaceful and beautiful time. The cabin was very comfortable. Enjoyed the fishing pond and watching the cows. Thanks again for such an amazing and relaxing weekend.
We had an absolutely amazing weekend. The peacefulness of the location was exactly what we needed. We really had a fantastic time and made so many new memories. The cows were really fun to watch as well:)
My friends and I just had another wonderful stay at Bittersweet Farm. We’ve been coming there every year for quite awhile and always love it. It’s perfect for us, so see you again next year!
This place is great if you are looking for an out of the way place for a quiet weekend or small family gathering. Definitely secluded.
We loved how secluded this cabin was. And I’ve stayed with the Hills O Brown cabins many times. So I’d hate to leave a somewhat negative review BUUUT… We had a few issues. The hot tub was malfunctioning… We called the number directed to us from the binder left at the cabin, left a voicemail but they didn’t return our call. The hot tub was 110 degrees and wouldn’t go down. Our feet were on fire when we tested the water. So we were slightly disappointed missing out on that. Especially for the price. One of us also sliced our finger and we couldn’t find a first aid kit anywhere in the cabin. I think that’s something that should be left accessible especially when you’re out in the middle of nowhere. And lastly, The fireplace wouldn’t come on. We’ve owned a gas fire place and know how to work them, so it wasn’t user error. Oh and a ginormous spider was in one of the beds. I get it, it’s the wilderness but we don’t like spiders in the beds.
Such a lovely location! It’s worth the trip just for that. Super close to trails, parks and vistas, but not another human in sight. Just what we needed to get away from the city for a weekend. Would be a great spot for larger groups.
Good morning! My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Bittersweet Farm and can’t wait to come back! We have no complaints at all, and the emails sent before our trip were definitely helpful, especially the directions. Thanks for the follow up!
This was a great place to stay with a group of friends. The kitchen is well stocked and we had wonderful weather for enjoying the amazing porches and views.
