Serendipity Park Cabin, as its name suggests, is a lucky discovery on 13 acres next to Brown County State Park. It is surrounded by woods & meadows, hills & valleys, and bottomlands & creeks. Please be aware that all state parks have entrance fees, and guests should have a park pass or pay these fees at an official park gate.

Lake Ogle in the State Park is just 1/4 mile from the cabin. There is a beautiful trail around the lake and another from the lake to the Lookout Tower for a long distant view of Brown County. For a real challenge, try hiking cross-country to Story, a tiny village four miles away with a great restaurant. At night you can hike to the top of the hill and see millions of stars undimmed by light pollution. This cabin is ideally situated for nature lovers so bring walking sticks, boots, binoculars, and cameras.

The exterior of the cabin is faced with hand-hewn logs from a barn which was on the site for over 100 years. There are two porches, one on the sunny south and one on the shady north. Sit on the porches at night and listen for whippoorwills or owls. Enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub or enjoy the view at the pond. Sit on the front porch during the day to enjoy birds attracted to the spring and creek. A grill and fire pit will add to your enjoyment outside.

The inside of the cabin is very open and light due to the many oversized windows, three skylights, and a vaulted ceiling. Turn on the gas fireplace if it's chilly. Cook a great meal in the fully furnished kitchen. Play board games or watch a show on the smart TV, but don't forget to enjoy the quiet.

When it is time to retire for the night, there are two bedrooms each with a comfortable queen size bed. and one full bath with tub/shower combo.

Share a great fishing lake with the Sister cabin - Lake Forest.

All our cabins have a 3 night minimum for Major Holidays.

These cabins are individually owned and this Owner has some special event pricing and 3 night minimum requirements other than just the holidays. Those 3 night minimums for 2025 and 2026 are:

August 27-30, 2026 $325-$350 a night
September 3-7, 2026 $325-$350 a night
September 10-13, 2026 $325-$350 a night
September 17-20, 2026 $325-$350 a night
October 8-11, 2026 $325-$350 a night
Oct 15-18, 2026 $325-$350 a night
October 22-25, 2026 $325-$350 a night
November 12-15, 2026 $325-$350 a night

If that's not enough, there is easy access to Nashville and Bloomington with their many restaurants, shopping, art galleries, sporting events, and all kinds of entertainment.

Sharing part of the same property is one of our sister cabins, Lake Forest Cabin. While the two cabins are both located on the same 25 acre property, neither house is visible from the other, so your privacy (except shared lake) won't be interrupted. The fact that the cabins share the same property is very handy for families or group of friends who desire two cabins being fairly close together.

It is our pleasure to inform you that our choice of this cabin was a great choice. The location was great (yes, wildlife was all around including a nest of baby birds on the back porch) It felt like a week in "log cabin heaven!" The inside was so nice and well equipped, everything was perfect, in fact, exceeded our expectations.
I believe was our #1.
We have worked with Hills O' Brown for several years now and are always pleased with the ease of making our reservations and ultimately booking the nicest cabins. We hope to be back again this year from South Bend.
Also we love the opportunity to take advantage of your weekday specials.

The cabin is very spacious. It is deep in the woods, about 1.5 miles from major road so the surroundings are beautiful and quiet. But a lot of details missing from such a beautiful place. The instruction told you there is no toilet paper, no paper towel, no basic hygiene products. I was very surprised to see this and can not understand. When we got there, we found there is toilet paper and paper towel. We were glad that we brought our own soap and shampoo as there isn't a convenient store close by to buy those. (The closest town is about 4 miles away and everything closed at 8pm.) The front bedroom's mattress is very uncomfortable. It was sunken in the middle and not supportive at all. Beddings are not comfortable. There is washer/dryer in the bathroom but no laundry detergent provided so we cannot use it. (This was not mentioned in instruction.)WIFI is limited with very intimidating instructions (no phone sigs). Overall, it's OK but inconvenient in many ways. Probably will not return.

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay at Serendipity Park. Everyone who stays there is so amazed that it is so close to the Brown County Park and so quiet and peaceful. Not sure why the bed was uncomfortable, it has recently been replaced but we will certainly check with the owner. As to the paper products and items that were there we do supply the GENERAL LIST of what is provided, with over 100 different owners and their decisions do change from time to time as to what they want to provide, we can only suggest the what to bring items. Our theory is it is better to be prepared than unpleasantly surprised. This is the list we sent you as part of the check in procedure: THINGS PROVIDED:
Pillows
Silverware
Kitchen appliances
All linens (towels, sheets, blankets)
Cookware, dishes, glasses
Coffee maker
THINGS TO BRING:
Trash bags
Toilet paper/napkins/paper towels
Dish soap/dishwasher soap
Bath soap/shampo
Personal toiletries
Sunscreen & Bug repellant
Firewood & kindling for outdoor fire pits
Swimming attire for hot tubs/pools
Charcoal & lighter fluid (for cabins with charcoal grills)
We do hope you will come back and see us again soon and as always you can call us for information. Thank you

Thanks for the follow up. We had an absolutely wonderful time in Brown County! The cabin was perfect with only one issue and that was that the wi-fi log in information was not accurate I found a note with the correct sign in information on the table so it wasn’t a big deal. I’ll be booking another reservation for this fall.

Loved the location for hiking and yet still close enough to town for some shopping while we waited on the rain to stop so we could hit the trails again.

Nice private location with creeks on two sides, just minutes from the west gate of Brown County State Park. There's also a path that you can walk to get over to the state park with hiking trails right there, assuming you've paid the park entry fee. Lots of space and a great open layout for a two-bedroom. Only downside is that they have fairly slow Internet and they ask that you avoid using too much data. I wouldn't count on being able to work if you need to Zoom, etc.
